Hey the movies are coming along. Since I've reduced my road shows where I normally feature my parasite videos, and frankly it's a common request from this site; I've started transferring my videos for use on the pages of Koivet.

Here's the link to the several videos I've done so far. I think they're pretty nice. And it's not like I just upload the WMV files. I make them flow, with MUSIC even. And a nice cinematic ending...

Well, have fun

Welcome to Koivet.com

Our new site is positioned on a server that we believe to be robust enough to handle our capacity. Koivet has been around for more than ten years, dispensing informative (and sometimes even entertaining) content about Koi and pond fish health.

Most of our content is provided from the real life experiences of Dr Erik Johnson, a noted fish veterinarian and long time hobbyist. Koivet is home to many resources including the legendary Message Board - And the movies: http://koivet.com/movies/

As soon as I find my copy of Adobe Acrobat (I lost the disc!) I will transfer all my old presentations to PDF and upload them in case you wanna see them.

This site is a dynamic work, which will have more and more content as time permits. We appreciate your patience, and the time you spend learning ways to care for your pond fish pets as well as possible. Oh and before I forget, did you know we have a blog?

PondRx.com For Fish Medicines PDF Print E-mail

I'm pleased to recommend PondRx to you for your needs when disease strikes. Medicine is NO substitute for the correct identification of an environmental issue. Most disease conditions are triggered by the environment.

Often the environment contains disease causing organisms. And these organisms, whether viruses, bacteria or parasites can do a LOT of damage in a short period of time. Making a diagnosis is important, and then deploying effective medicine can save lives.

PondRx was formed to provide a FEW GOOD MEDICINES. You might notice some fish medicine sites that have a hundred catalog numbers for meds. This is sad because only a few basic medications are even needed, and a "large selection" of medicines to the hobbyist is only a good way to discover ones that don't work. It's a shame.

When we developed PondRx product line, we included just the stuff you need, just the stuff that works. So it had 32 catalog numbers. Thirty two items when it opened.

I think it still has about that many items. It's really simple and we made it easy. For most medicines, there's a complete "How To Use It" brochure that leaves no question unanswered.

PondRx - my recommendation for fish medicines. (Heck I wrote most of their brochures!)

PondCrisis and KoiCrisis PDF Print E-mail

Two separate web sites will be incorporated into the Koivet site content. The original content of PondCrisis.com and KoiCrisis.com will become subdirectories of Koivet. This is to make it VERY easy for people to find their way into these two, important diagnostic services. These are free resources.

PondCrisis.com's information is intended to take you through an ENVIRONMENTAL evaluation. It asks you a series of basic questions IN ORDER, to guide you through the proper identification of factors that set your pond or tank up for disease outbreaks. Disease, is a MASSIVELY environmental condition!

KoiCrisis is a place to scope out various symptoms, and answer basic questions about the medications and things you could do to remedy the conditions you find.

We welcome this information and these directories in our web site.
